Timed for the closing weeks of Samsung IQ, the third in our series of widget Technical papers examines the specifics of Samsung Mobile Widgets. Author Richard Bloor provides an overview of the current widget landscape and looks at how Samsung’s implementation of widgets on the Touch Wiz UI differs from other widget implementations, namely S60 Web Runtime (WRT) widgets.
The paper then goes on to provide a technical overview of the features and specific APIs available when developing Samsung Mobile Widgets, paying particular attention to resizing, scrolling and obtaining language information.
Then in the concluding sections the paper provides an overview of what to do once you have developed your Samsung Mobile Widget: the testing options available and ways to get-to-market.
